Abstract

The article reveals the key concepts of A. Cherepnin's ballet-critical activity – expressive and visual, artistic synthesis, symphonic dance and dance drama; the main method is descriptive analysis. It is proved that A. Cherepnin interpreted B. Croce's aesthetic concepts and extrapolated them into the field of ballet criticism. B. Croce's aesthetic intuition as a form of a priori synthesis is inscribed in a wide context of linguistic and interpretive techniques, A. Cherepnin's aesthetic intuition is inscribed in the context of dialectical interaction of various forms of dance, first of all, «symphonic dance» and «dance drama».
