Abstract

The paper presents rare materials on the issue and introduces contemporary art institutions founded by Ukrainians in the United States; systematises the institutional experience of the Ukrainian art community in the United States and identifies its peculiarities in different historical periods. The author analyses formation of Ukrainian artistic entities in the United States of America in the period after World War II and up to the present day. Attention is focused on the most influential and significant diaspora organisations created by representatives of the third wave of emigration and influencing the development of Ukrainian fine arts in the United States. Their programme goals, organisational models, and main achievements are clarified. Some art institutions founded in the United States by Ukrainian immigrants during the period of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine are identified.
The purpose of the paper is to identify the peculiarities of art institutions9 establishment and development in the
Ukrainian community in the United States in the period after the end of World War II and at the present stage.
The main stages of the institutional experience in the Ukrainian artistic community in the USA are identified.
It is stated that the representatives of the third wave of emigration created a system of cultural and fine art organisations in the United States aimed at preserving and developing the national fine arts in exile. It is emphasised that the established Ukrainian museum and archive structures in the United States integrate Ukrainian art into the global context and drawing the attention of American society to the topic of the russian-Ukrainian war. New artistic institutions founded by Ukrainian immigrants to the United States against the backdrop of the russian-Ukrainian war demonstrate an active dialogue with the broader American community and integrate the Ukrainian theme into the global artistic map.
