The relevance of this article stems from the need to study Ukrainian artistic migration in the context of artistic
universalism as a dynamic phenomenon of national musical culture in the 20 th and 21 st centuries. Methodology. An
interdisciplinary approach, incorporating biographical, historical, cultural, analytical, musicological, and other methods
were applied. Scientific novelty. The author proposes a classification of Ukrainian musical migration in the 20th–21st
centuries based on geographical and chronological components. Research results. Using the method of biographically
oriented musicology, an attempt to reconstruct comprehensively a multifaceted picture of Ukrainian artistic migration in
the 20 th–21 st centuries was made, and perceptions regarding the integrity of the universe of Ukrainian musical
heritage were revised. Based on a study of the life and creative paths of representatives of the Ukrainian musical
diaspora, the universalism of the creative figures under consideration has been revealed. It has been demonstrated that
the social environment – with its linguistic, cultural, educational, religious, and artistic practices – played a key role in
the processes of Ukrainian artistic migration, particularly the families of artists in which Ukrainian national linguistic
and cultural traditions were actively upheld.
