FIGURATIVE DOMINANTS IN THE MONUMENTAL COMPOSITIONS OF ANDRII BOKOTEY «THE LAST SUPPER» AND «TERRACOTTA ARMY»

Abstract

The aim of the article is to identify the dominant images in the monumental compositions of Andriy Bokotey's «The Last Supper» and «Terracotta Army» and analyze them in a cultural context. Research methodology. Analytical, comparative, formalistic methods were applied.
Results. It is determined that the large-scale creative works represent the pinnacle of the author's intellectual and spiritual activity and reveal new possibilities of the material. The inspirational sources of the author's artistic decisions are analyzed, as well as emphasis is placed on the high level of artistic plasticity and its significance on the international
stage. A professional art analysis of the compositions «The Last Supper» from 2018 and 2021 is presented. The artistic dominants are outlined and the variation of their interpretations in the context of cultural processes is analyzed.
Novelty. For the first time, Andriy Bokotey's monumental glass compositions «The Last Supper» and «Terracotta Army» were comprehensively analyzed in a cultural context.
The practical significance. The obtained results can serve as a basis for further research on the creativity of Andriy Bokotey and the characteristics of Ukrainian glass art in general. They may also be used as a source of inspiration for artists and those who are interested in the international studio glass movement. The article provides a better understanding of the creative phenomenon of the most famous Ukrainian glass artist, Andriy Bokotey.
