Abstract

The strength of the master's individuality, the formation of the method and his own views on the Ukrainian art development in the first third of the 20 th century illuminates well the Lviv period of M. Boichuk's creativity in 1910-1914. At this time, the artist's searches in the stylistic and compositionally formal dimension of creative realization are important. The artist had just returned from the so-called artistic laboratory in Paris, where deep processes of formation of new stylistic trends in art took place, so it was a time of self-awareness and self-expression in the creative face of Ukrainian art. Maliutsa, M. Golubets, D. Ivantsev, M. Voronoi, V. Lasovsky, P. Kovzhun concerning the problems of the development of Ukrainian art in the first half of the 20 th century were analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the Ukrainian national style formation as well as to terminology, directions and personalities.
