THE IMPACT OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES ON THE CULTURAL SPACE OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to analyze the impact of digital technologies on the transformation of the cultural space of
Ukraine, with particular emphasis on the processes of digitization of cultural heritage, the development of creative industries,
and the expansion of cultural communication in the global digital environment. The research also aims to assess how digital
tools contribute to cultural resilience and international integration of Ukraine under conditions of contemporary challenges,
including war and globalization. Research methodology. The study is based on a Comprehensive approach combining general
scientific and special methods. Systemic analysis is applied to identify the interrelations between digitalization processes and
cultural transformations. Comparative analysis is used to evaluate differences between Ukraine and the European Union in
terms of digital cultural development indicators. Methods of classification and generalization are employed to structure the
main directions of digital influence on the cultural sector, while statistical and analytical methods are used to interpret relevant
international data (UNESCO, World Bank, EU reports). Scientific novelty. The paper provides a comprehensive assessment of
the role of digital technologies as a key driver of transformation of the cultural space of Ukraine. It substantiates the dual
nature of digitalization, which simultaneously enhances accessibility to cultural content and creates new challenges related to
digital inequality and institutional capacity. The study also highlights the acceleration of digital transformation in the cultural
sector of Ukraine after 2022. Conclusions. Digital technologies significantly reshape the cultural space of Ukraine by
expanding access to cultural heritage, fostering the development of creative industries, and strengthening global cultural
communication. Despite existing gaps compared to EU countries, Ukraine demonstrates dynamic progress in digital cultural
transformation. Digitalization emerges as a strategic factor of cultural sustainability, modernization, and international cultural
integration.
