THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES OF RESEARCHING BANDURA ART IN UKRAINE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 21 ST CENTURY

The main goal of the study is to analyze kobzarism as a unique phenomenon of Ukrainian musical art in the
context of modern scientific discourse, to highlight the theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of
kobzarism in the system of art history.
Research methodology. A comprehensive approach was applied, which combines musicological and
organological analysis to identify the process of academization of the bandura genre; linguistic and terminological
analysis to clarify terminological definitions; historical and comparative approaches to analyze the processes of
integration of folk art into academic culture. This approach allows not only to identify the existing terminological
contradictions of modern scientific discourse, but most importantly – to define bandura studies in the system of art
history as a science and an academic discipline. Results. The introduction of the terms «academic» and «academized»
by Ukrainian scientists was taken into account, which emphasized the influence of academization on the content and
functions of modern bandura art. Also taken into account are the features that distinguish the authenticity of the folk
instrument and its modern modernization. An integrative, comprehensive and Ukrainian-scientific approach is applied
in combination with musicological analysis to highlight the process of academization of the bandura genre and
performance style; historical, culturological and art-historical approaches to analyze the processes of integration of lyrebandura
folk art into modern academic culture. This approach allows us to objectively comprehend the socio-cultural
and artistic processes that contribute to the syncretization of the traditional and academic in modern theoretical and
performing bandura studies. An analysis of bandura studies as a phenomenon of Ukrainian musical art in the context of
modern scientific discourse is carried out, taking into account the prospects for the development of this direction.
Novelty. New directions of research and development of bandura studies in the direction of the development and
dissemination of scientific and conceptual tools are characterized. The practical significance. The results and
conclusions of the scientific research are the basis for creating educational work programs in the professional discipline
«Bandura Studies» as a scientific and educational discipline.
