Abstract

Formulation of the problem. The article comprehensively examines the current state and prospects of China's key international music festivals and competitions, with a focus on their role in the development of cultural diplomacy, support for young talent, and China's integration into the global music space. Artistic events in the field of classical music, jazz, rock, and popular music are highlighted, emphasising their dynamics, scale, and international significance.
It is noted that artistic practices of the international level enrich the cultural life of the Chinese people, contribute to the inheritance and development of traditional culture through the integration of professional and amateur art.
The research methodology necessitates the use of an interdisciplinary approach that takes into account the specifics of various fields of modern humanitarian knowledge.
The scientific novelty of the study is determined by the attempt to bring new information to the scientific field on the current state and functioning of international music competitions and festivals in China. In recent years, Chinese music has also been influenced by Western styles, leading to the emergence of a vibrant contemporary music scene in China. Among them is the gradual introduction of the Chinese society, which was historically closed to the outside world, to the European traditions of academic musical culture and, in particular, to the instrumentation. Results. Thus, the development and functioning of international music competitions and festivals in China is a multicultural sociocultural phenomenon and a vivid reflection of the cultural and artistic processes of our time. It is proved that the disclosure and understanding of certain aspects of the socio-cultural space of China on the example of well-known international music competitions and festivals is extremely relevant in the present period.
