THE MUSICAL FRANKIANA AS AN EXPRESSOFNATIONAL ARCHETYPICTHINKING

Keywords: musical Frankiana, Ukrainian music, chamber vocal and choral works, archetype, mentality

Abstract

The chamber-vocal and choral Frankianais considered through the prism of the national mentality embodiment.
Two areas are distinguished, based on the will- and cordo- codes of national archetype thinking. The first, inspired by the spirit of struggle and the aspir ations of freedom, created the Revolutionary-Kamenyar archetype («The eternal revolutionary» by M. Lysenko and S. Liudkevych, «Vivere memento!» by I. Karabyts, etc.). The second, due to Franco’s «sensual ethics», is echoed with the Philosopher-lyric archetype (solosinging about love, etc.). The combination of these spheres is a musical and poetic concept of the holistic Ukrainian mental archetype («Spring» by M. Skoryk, «The Blessed Time Comes» by V. Kaminskyi, etc.).
