Abstract

In this article the television cultural projects aimed at popularizing national culture and traditions through applied crafts and skills have been examined. Using the example of culinary television shows, the significance of community leaders' initiatives in transforming cultural practices and representations, which contribute to the delineation of national identity, has been identified. The relationship between cuisine as a part of national identity and culture has been analyzed. It has been established that in the process of forming modern states, recipes have become bearers of the values of national, and later post-national, society. It has been noted that currently, television projects influence the overall development of societal culture.
