MUSIC IN CULTURAL DIPLOMACY MODERN UKRAINE

Abstract

Relevance of the study. In the conditions of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and the need for the world community to support the struggle of the Ukrainian people against the invasion, the role of art, in particular music, in many social and information spheres has grown unprecedentedly. It is about a cultural war on a global scale, victory in which is one
of the conditions for the survival of a nation. The current situation dictates new challenges, in particular, in terms of developing an appropriate strategy and tactics for utilizing the potential of musical art in confrontation with the enemy.
Appealing to national spiritual values, conveying the truth about the war through artistic expression in the creative projects of modern artists, popularizing Ukrainian music in the world – all of these are the components of modern cultural diplomacy, which works to create the image of Ukraine and determines the relevance of addressing the chosen topic.
Research methodology is determined by its purpose and relies on a number of methods involved, including the descriptive method, the methods of empirical research (observation, comparison), the systemic method and the method of generalization.
The purpose of the article is to demonstrate the range of opportunities and the panorama of participation of domestic musicians in creating the international image of Ukraine, to update the role of music and the contribution of composers, performers, and musicologists to the cause of cultural diplomacy of modern Ukraine.
Novelty. The scientific novelty of the article lies in introduction into the scientific circulation of information about musical projects, compositional and performing creativity, presented through the prism of the modern socio-cultural situation, as well as in the actualization of the role of music and musicians in the cultural diplomacy of Ukraine in the present times.
Prospects for further research of the topic are foreseen in further documenting, publishing, analyzing various kinds of artifacts; generalization of experience and development of new strategies of Ukrainian cultural (musical) diplomacy.
