INTEGRATION OF THE PHENOMENON OF MILITARY CULTURE WITHIN THE CULTURE OF SOCIETY
Abstract
In today's world, culture becomes the key to understanding the internal logic of war, its forms and patterns of warfare. Military culture is a set of ideas, beliefs, prejudices that guide the actions of state-run military organisations. Furthermore, military culture regulates the internal conditions that give special character to the military structure and determine the manner and form of military operations.
The aim objective of the study is to investigate the multidimensional phenomenon of military culture, its methodological foundations, as well as the specifics of its integration into the culture as a whole.
In accordance with the aim of the article, the relevant tasks were set, namely:
- to reveal the meaning of the concept of «military culture»;
- to investigate the extent to which this concept is integrated into culture as a whole.
Scientific novelty of the article is determined by extrapolating culturological approach to the study of the phenomenon of military culture, as well as by interaction of different cultural dimensions, which in a globalized information society play a primary role in shaping the specific features of military culture and culture of the society as a whole.
Conclusions. Military culture, despite its specificity, contains identical features of culture, in particular – it is not a biological phenomenon and does not belong to the natural world, has a social and adaptive character, and includes semiotic and symbolic aspects. Military culture, in its mental, theoretical and praxeological parts, is the substantive basis of social culture.
