Today there are many scientific researches on various aspects of the festival movement, but there are almost no historiographical researches that would highlight the development of cultural and artistic processes that took place in the period after the restoration of Ukraine's independence in Ternopil. Since in domestic scientific publications there are no full-fledged scientific investigations that would reflect the festival life of this region.
Conclusions. Open competition of vocalists and choirs named after S. Krushelnytska is conceptual and has its own history and traditions. This competition identifies talented contestants and helps to preserve and promote the best examples of Ukrainian songs. The competition is also a large-scale artistic event in Ternopil, which honors the memory of world-famous singer Solomiya Krushelnytska, promotes academic music and the achievements of Ukrainian and world vocal and choral art.
Competition of vocalists and choirs named after S. Krushelnytska changed in relation to socio-cultural conditions and modernized in relation to all-Ukrainian trends in the development of the festival-competition movement. The program requirements, forms of holding, age and nomination distribution, the status of the jury, forms of representation, advertising and awarding of laureates were changed.
This competition has great prospects and can become a significant cultural and artistic event not only at the regional but also at the All-Ukrainian and International levels. Moreover in the future, a powerful artistic association may be formed, which will promote the academic style of performance, opera music and the best examples of Ukrainian classical repertoire not only during the competition but also in the inactive phases of its activities. To do this, the organizers need to involve more famous artists in the organization, to set up better work with the All-Ukrainian media, to attract sponsors, to consider global trends in such competitions, to set requirements for one of the tours «singing with orchestra», to increase the number of master classes and to promote the competition in modern social networks.
