LEISURE IN EUROPEAN UTOPIAN TRADITION : CULTURAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract

A purpose of the research is a reasoning of leisure significance in a context of utopian discourse. A methodology of the research comprises the general scientific, historical and cultural methods. A novelty of the research lies in a systematization of leisure experience accumulated in a diverse «utopian» literature. A conclusion of the research demonstrates that leisure is an integral component of a perfect society model. A rationalism and regulation of leisure practices are necessary to improve a social life and educate a «new» personality. The correlation of work and leisure is characterized by uninterrupted discourse about transformation of wok as a hard labor obligation into a free, creative form of activity.
