SPECIFICITY OF MODERN SPORTS BALL DANCE IN WESTERN EUROPE

Abstract

The features of the development of modern sports ballroom dance in Western European countries are investigated. The current state of dance sports is considered, the leading trends in dance sports at the present stage are identified and further prospects for the evolution of sports ballroom dance are outlined. Based on an analysis of the prestigious international and regional ballroom dance sport championships held during 2018–2019, the leading dance couples in Western Europe at the present stage are identified.
