The article examines historical prototypes and contemporary approaches to the integration of collectible objects in
interiors as a spatial and cultural phenomenon in which objects perform not only decorative, but also meaning-making,
symbolic, communicative, and status-related functions. Based on historical-comparative, typological, and interpretive
analysis, the concept of the collectible object is clarified in the context of interior design, distinguished from adjacent
categories, and the main historical prototypes of collection-oriented interiors are identified. It is demonstrated that the cabinet
of curiosities, the collector’s interior as a form of social representation, and the domestic interior as an object of display laid
the foundations for contemporary ways of integrating collectible objects into residential and semi-public space. It is
determined that contemporary approaches to the integration of such objects are implemented through the curatorial
organization of space, display infrastructure, spatial narrative, atmosphere, and an emphasis on the origin and authenticity of
the object. The article proposes a conceptual model of interaction between the collectible object and the interior,
encompassing four interrelated dimensions: value regime, display infrastructure, scenario of semantic interpretation, and
mode of interaction. It is substantiated that the contemporary interior with collectible objects should be understood as a hybrid
space in which domesticity and exhibitionality, everyday life and display, proximity and distance are combined. The practical
significance of the study lies in the possibility of applying the proposed model to the analysis and design of interiors in which
collectible objects play a structure-forming role.
