Abstract

The purpose of the article is to identify the features of the representation of Ukrainian authentic dance in the stage
space of the 21st century based on an art historical analysis of folk stage dance compositions and the choreographic
component of theatrical performances. Research methodology. The method of terminological analysis, theoretical method,
method of analysis and synthesis, method of comparative analysis, method of art historical analysis, method of observation and
descriptive method were applied.
Scientific novelty. The approaches of ballet masters to the elaboration of the primary source of Ukrainian dance culture
in choreographic and theatrical productions are considered. It is stated that the appeal to Ukrainian authentic dance in the modern stage space is due to the desire to strengthen national identity and patriotism. It is specified that a common practice among modern ballet masters-directors is the transfer of everyday or ceremonial Ukrainian dance to the professional stage while preserving the aesthetics of traditional dance culture, cultural code and compliance with the requirements of stage art. It is found that the main ways of representing Ukrainian authentic dance in the stage space at the present stage are reconstruction, stylization, synthesis and emphasis on the local specificity of dance vocabulary. The study found that the productions presented in the modern stage space represent several basic approaches to working with Ukrainian authentic dance, which were formed in the process of developing folk stage choreography and vary from reproducing expedition recordings of dance vocabulary with maximum accuracy, synthesizing authentic dance elements with the vocabulary of classical ballroom dance, modern dance, contemporary dance, etc., to the director's emphasis on a certain plastic moment, image or idea of authentic dance. Based on the comparative analysis, it was found that in the productions of folk stage choreography, the most common approach to interpreting Ukrainian authentic dance is stylization; choreography to accompany musical performances (concert numbers, music videos, etc.) involves the use of borrowing, imitation, imitation and shaping; In theatrical productions, successful attempts have been made to organically integrate authentic dance into the stage action as part of a certain ritual, to enhance the atmosphere of the performance, or to reveal a deep subtext or reveal the psychology of the characters.
Practical significance. Certain aspects and conclusions of the study can be used in further scientific development of the issues of representations of Ukrainian authentic dance in the social space of the 21st century.
