The article comprehensively covers the preservation and popularization of the Hutsul dialect in the modern cultural space using the example of book publications, audiobooks, and digital media. It reveals the cultural significance of the dialect as an element of intangible heritage and a unique marker of the local identity of the Hutsuls. It emphasizes that audio formats provide a unique opportunity to preserve the authentic sound, intonation, and rhythm of the dialect, while printed publications form a written corpus of local vocabulary. It is noted that these media convey knowledge about the Hutsuls, their worldview, way of life, rituals, and traditions. In this sense, dictionaries and recordings act as tools for «activating» cultural identity: they allow speakers and non-speakers to see, hear, and realize their linguistic and cultural differences. It has been proven that comprehensive recording in the media sphere contributes not only to the preservation of linguistic tradition, but also to the active representation of Hutsul culture in the national and global information space. Audiobooks and podcasts serve as a cultural bridge between the past and the present, providing an opportunity to hear authentic speech, record phonetics, rhythm, and intonation, and at the same time promote Hutsul culture in the digital space. Thus, recording dialects has two key functions: conservation, which consists of preserving linguistic material, and transmission, which consists of representing it for future generations and the outside world. This is especially important for societies that may feel pressure from standard languages or globalization processes.
