The aim of the article is to clarify the specifics of the cover version as a postmodern phenomenon of musical culture and to
determine its role in the processes of reinterpretation, intertextuality and transformation of meanings in the modern artistic space.
The research methodology is based on a combination of theoretical and methodological approaches of
musicology, cultural studies and postmodern aesthetics. The main methods are synthesis, theoretical and intertextual
analysis, generalization, etc. The conclusions are based on modern research by Ukrainian and foreign authors, which
allows integrating local practices into the global postmodern context.
The novelty. Conceptualization of the cover version as a postmodern phenomenon of musical culture, which
functions not only as a form of secondary reproduction, but as an independent creative strategy of reinterpretation.
Practical significance. The results of the study can be used for further analysis of cover versions as independent
artistic practices that reflect postmodern cultural strategies. Also as a methodological material for courses on the history
of musical art, cultural studies, modern music industry and aesthetics of postmodernism.
