Research methodology. General scientific and special methods and approaches drawn from psychology, art history, and sociology were used. Among the general scientific methods, the following were used: analysis, synthesis, explanation, and generalization.
Scientific novelty. For the first time in Ukrainian art history, the emphasis is on the psychological factors of interaction between actor and viewer, which influence the perception of stage action.
Conclusions. It is stated that modern stage practices are increasingly focused on the audience's perception and interaction between the performer and the audience. Research indicates the importance of psychological, cognitive and neurophysiological mechanisms that determine the emotional response of the audience. The key aspects of effective stage performance in this context are: the actor's emotional expressiveness 3 the use of methods of experiencing and physical actions to create a deep connection with the audience; psychophysiology of acting – control of voice, facial expressions, gestures and various techniques to influence the audience's perception; psychology of perception – understanding the mechanisms of attention, identification and empathy to enhance emotional involvement; theater therapy – the use of stage practices in social adaptation, psychological support, personal development, etc.
