METHODS OF ARTISTIC INTERPRETATION IN THE CRITICISM OF MODERN BALLET
Abstract
Criticism of the modern ballet theater is one of the important areas of critical art discourse, plays a significant role in preserving the integrity of ballet studies (more widely – choreology), allowing to stimulate the interest of ordinary viewers and the professional community in the dance field events, to activate the reflective field regarding the features, ways and problems of the development of dance art. The analysis of contemporary ballet criticism made it possible to consider philosophical, aesthetic, biographical, psychoanalytic, historical and artistic, comparative and typological interpretative approaches. Such differentiation is rather conditional, most often within one critical speech a combination of several interpretative approaches takes place, which is the key to deepening the meaning of the work, identifying the entire spectrum of its artistic features, and its integration into the artistic and socio-cultural context.
