Abstract

The aim of this paper is to reveal the specifics of the vocal-performing aspect in the field of interpretation of romances-«sonnets» as a form of artistic expression, combining musical and literary discourses, in M. Dremlyuga9s
vocal cycle on Fr. Petrarch9s poems.
Research methodology. The article uses general scientific approaches and methods: analytical, structural, hermeneutic; a special part is made up of special musicological methods: musical-analytical, interpretive, vocaltechnical and vocal-performing.
Results. On the basis of the analysis of the vocal and musical components and artistic context of the selected romances by M. Dremlyuga based on the texts of Fr. Petrarch's sonnets («Songs of Love»; Ukrainian translation by B. Ten), the specifics and characteristic features of the vocal and performing aspect in the sphere of interpretation of these romances as a form of artistic expression combining musical and literary discourses were determined; the main musical and artistic features characteristic of these romances in the sphere of vocal and performance interpretation were identified; it was found out that the expressive sensual mood of the musical statement of each of the romances, coordinating them with each other, creates a unified lyrical and expressive atmosphere of the entire vocal cycle; the important role of the mutual interaction of vocal-technical factors and the meaningful text in the singer9s embodiment of the artistic image of the vocal sonnet is noted.
Novelty. The article reveals the specificity and characteristic features of the vocal-performance component in the
field of interpretation of vocal sonnets by the Ukrainian composer of the 20 th century. M. Dremlyuga on the poems of
Fr. Petrarch («Songs of Love», Ukrainian translation by B. Ten). The practical significance. The article contains information that is useful for professional representatives of the spheres of music art in terms of improving their vocal and artistic performance.
