THE SPIRITUAL THEMES OF THE CHAMBER-VOCAL WORKS OF V. BARVINSKYI AND N. NYZHANKIVSKYI

Abstract

The article analyzes the Western Ukrainian composers’ chamber-vocal works of sacred subject matter, which were created in the first third of XX century. The interpretation of the spiritual themes has not been previously considered from the perspective of religious romantic songs. Basing on the analysis of the works N. Nyzhankivskyi and V. Barvinskyi the author mentions that the latest trend exit along with the traditional means of musical expression of that time.
