Abstract

The article considers the monograph of the Ukrainian scientist Y.Sozansky «Musical semiotics». The main
theses of the problem of musical semiotics in conception of the authorare characterized. Various methodological approachesthe author used in the study are proposed. The article reviews the semiotic model of a musical composition as a multilevel system with its constitutive levels: the level of elements of musical drama, the level of their connections, and the level of integrity of the semiotic model. The concept of a «musical theme», the concept of «image», the «system of contrasts», the concept of «figurative semantic syntagma», and the «musical semantic unit»are analyzed.
