FEMALE ARCHETYPES IN THE ACTING CRAFT OF ADA ROHOVTSEVA

Abstract

The purpose of research. The article is dedicated to exploring the female archetypes in the works of the renowned Ukrainian actress Ada Rohovtseva. A cultural analysis of her acting mastery is conducted, taking into account the interaction with various archetypes reflected in the characters of the legendary actress. Through the analysis of roles, repertoire, and creative choices of Ada Rohovtseva, the cultural contexts influencing the portrayal of the modern woman on screen are elucidated. Methodology. To achieve the set goal, a cinematic and theatrical analysis of films and plays featuring Ada Rohovtseva was conducted. An archetype and content analysis of the roles she portrayed was carried out, focusing on the female archetypes they represent. Additionally, interviews with the actress, critical reviews of her works, and sources from acting theory were examined. Scientific Novelty. The study provides the first comprehensive analysis of archetypes in Ada Rohovtseva's acting mastery, which will help to gain a deeper understanding of the actress's creative individuality and her contribution to Ukrainian theater and cinema. Conclusions. Analyzing the archetypes embodied by Ada Mykolayivna Rohovtseva in her roles, we gain deeper insight into her creative individuality and contribution to Ukrainian culture. The actress skillfully portrays a wide range of female archetypes, among which, firstly, is the mother – sincere, devoted, wise, strong, and resilient; secondly, the beloved – tender, attractive, faithful, and emotional; thirdly, the guardian – caring, wise,
resourceful, and industrious; fourthly, the fighter – strong, brave, decisive, and resilient. Ada Rohovtseva not only reproduces archetypes but also reinterprets them, adapting them to contemporary realities. Through her performances, she actively contributes to shaping new cultural notions of femininity and gender roles. Her creativity is imbued with sincere love for Ukraine. Ada Mykolayivna's heroines are always ready to defend their land and people, to preserve the Ukrainian language and culture. Ada Rohovtseva is not just a talented actress; she is a symbol of the indomitable spirit, sincerity, and love for her country, a moral ideal and a model of identity. Her creativity inspires millions of people, instilling faith in defenders, giving them strength to believe in the future and to build a strong and free Ukraine.
