CONTEMPORARY UKRAINIAN JAZZ ART IN THE CONTEXT OF POSTMODERN ARTISTIC THINKING

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to conduct research and reveal the peculiarities of the development and formation of contemporary Ukrainian jazz art in the minds of postmodernism and the connection with Ukrainian folk music.
Research methodology. The article examines the era of postmodernism as a phenomenon clearly represented in all spheres of human activity, including musical art. The main idea of the article is the influx of postmodernism into the development of stylistic features of jazz culture in the context of the understanding of musical and stylistic features of
Ukrainian folklore and characteristic genre displays of jazz music art.
The article describes the results of research on the topic of interaction between Ukrainian folklore and Ukrainian jazz art. The works of Zoriana Ros, A.M. Solovyov, Li Shuay and Y. Loshkov, and U.R. Bekirov, in which the authors trace the very specificity and particularity of this interaction. Also presented is the activity of Odessa jazz musicians, who are pursuing
and implementing the current trends of the era in their performing and composing activities. 
Results. Ukrainian jazz art is undergoing a gradual transformation, like all other cultural aspects of the region, through the influx of postmodern tendencies, and will require a clear and detailed analysis. The article examines a number of characteristic figures associated with postmodernism in the context of the Ukrainian modern jazz tradition: the integration of
folklore styles of Ukrainian melodies into jazz culture, a mixture of genres, the interaction of musical expressions benefits of different things directly. The statistics have established a close relationship between current Ukrainian jazz performers and composers with new trends, development and experimentation in jazz directly, from the discovery of many different forms of expression, including the Ukrainian national musical culture.
Novelty. The article presents new contemporary musical works that reveal the main theme of the article. In particular, the creativity of the current Odessa jazz pianist and composer O. Petukhov is described. In the context of the synthesis of Ukrainian national music and jazz traditions, the work of the arranger and composer of the folk musical «The Love of the Sich
Rifleman», which premiered in 2023 at the Odessa Academic Music Theater named after. M. Vodyanoy.
More practical. Statistic materials may be useful for current performers-vocalists and jazz-teacher vocalists, who are open to experimentation and are in search of new current musical material.
