PRESERVATION OF DEZYDER MYLLYI ARTISTIC WORKS IN THE STRUCTURE OF THE MUSEUM OF UKRAINIAN CULTURE IN SVIDNÍK (SLOVAKIA)
Abstract
Formulation of the problem. The author tries to disclose information about the important stages of creation and functioning of the Museum of Ukrainian Culture in Svidnik (Slovakia), the structure, idea and tasks of this institution, the activities of its employees, and focuses on the preservation of the creative heritage of the artist D. Myllyi and his work. The purpose of the study is to comprehensively reveal the specifics of the functioning of the Museum of Ukrainian Culture in Svidník (Slovakia) and how the samples of the artistic heritage of the artist D. Myllyi are preserved and popularized in the structure of the institution.
The research methodology necessitates the use of an interdisciplinary approach that takes into account the specifics of various fields of modern humanitarian knowledge. The research prioritizes the principles based on history, integrity, and objectivity, aimed at revealing the functioning of the museum and preserving the creative work of the artist D. Myllyi in its buildings.
he scientific novelty of the study is determined by an attempt to generalize the trends in the preservation of the spiritual and material culture of Ukrainians, namely the paintings of the artist D. Myllyi on the example of the Museum of Ukrainian Culture in Svidnik (Slovakia).
Results. It should be emphasized that the spiritual and material culture of any ethnic group is based on the collective experience of the people, their traditions, knowledge, and skills. By preserving the monuments of the past, the Museum of Ukrainian Culture in Svidník has gained an honorable place among the museums of Eastern Slovakia and beyond, and the creative work of D. Myllyi holds a special place in the history of art in Slovakia and the visual culture of the western borderland of the Ukrainian ethnic group. The proposed study is relevant and timely today, as it contains information little known in Ukraine and will find its place in lecture courses on art history, ethnology, art, culture and art of the Ukrainian diaspora. Prospects for further research. It is the functioning of museums in Ukraine and abroad that does not allow young people to forget about their origins, their roots, the history of the past and the difficult realities of the present, which encourages further research in this area.
