FEATURES OF PRESENTING TRADITIONAL SPIRITUAL SONG CONTENT ON THE «YOUTUBE» PLATFORM
Abstract
The article explores the features of presenting traditional spiritual songs on the YouTube platform. It identifies the role of this content in the socio-cultural space and in the spiritual life of an individual. The concepts of «tradition» and «folk culture» in Ukrainian spiritual songs are discussed in the article. It reveals the inherent characteristics of spiritual song performances, outlines a universally significant cultural code for consumers of spiritual song content, and examines its role in the perception of examples of this genre.
The aim of the article is to identify the features of presenting traditional spiritual song content on the YouTube platform. Research Methods. The basis of the research is an interdisciplinary methodology. Structural-semiotic, aesthetic, cultural, and axiological methods are employed.
Novelty. Ukrainian spiritual songs are examined in the context of their functioning on the YouTube platform.
Conclusions. The socio-cultural value of Ukrainian spiritual songs is significant and multifaceted; they play a crucial role in shaping and expressing the socio-cultural identity of the Ukrainian people. Preserving the history, tradition, and spirituality of the nation, they serve as a catalyst for reevaluating the past and creating something new. They can be a source of insights and wisdom, as well as bring people together around shared values and ideas, reinforcing national unity and dignity Spiritual songs have the ability to influence societal processes and have a deep socio-cultural context that defines their significance and impact on the formation of the spiritual and cultural identity of the Ukrainian people.
Thanks to the ease of sharing their creativity with a wide audience on YouTube, traditional Ukrainian spiritual songs are vividly represented in various performance styles, each finding its own audience. Thus, spiritual songs on YouTube have the ability to satisfy the spiritual needs of people with different musical preferences, artistic and aesthetic tastes, and levels of spiritual growth.
