PHILOSOPHICAL CATEGORY OF EMINENCE: PROJECTION ON MUSICAL AND LITERARY CORRESPONDENCE

Keywords: music-verbal eminence, comparative studies, intermediality, dialog, musical nomenosphere, mimesis, ekphrasis.

Abstract

In the article the contribution of Ukrainian musicologists to the process of formation of comparative studies in the field of art history is generalized; the main achievements (both fundamental ideas and principles, and specific studies) are highlighted, and introduction of a philosophical and hermeneutic category «eminent text» (according to H.-G. Gadamer) to the terminological idiom of musical and cultural comparative studies is suggested. The subject of the research is the conceptualization of the musical verbal eminence as a cultural and artistic phenomenon, based on a creative interpretation of the additional content embedded in the work. Certain dimensions of the combination of the music and word (program and vocal art, «music prose», writers’ music studies, fiction written by musicians, music nomenosphere in literature) in the trend of modern comparative concepts have been studied.
