ARTWORKS BY TETIANA YABLONSKA IN THE COLLECTION OF THE DIRECTORATE OF ART EXHIBITIONS OF UKRAINE

Abstract

This study examines the creative heritage of Ukrainian artist Tetiana Yablonska (1917−2005) in the collection of the Directorate of Art Exhibitions of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine (Directorate). Most of the works by the artist, which formed an important part of the museum collections of Ukraine, passed through the Directorate. Applying historical, chronological and cultural methods, the paper analyses information regarding the presence of works by Tetiana Yablonska in the Directorate's collections, chronology of their transfer to collections of Ukrainian museums, reveals inconsistency in museums' inventory cards as to the attribution of particular canvases. Having analysed the records of the Directorate of Art Exhibitions of Ukraine, this study restored names and dates of artworks by Tetiana Yablonska in the National Art Museum of Ukraine and Kharkiv Art Museum
