CULTURAL SPACE AS A RESOURCE FOR A TOURIST DESTINATION

Abstract

The aim of the article. This paper considers the development and positioning of potential tourist regions on the principle of destinations. Destinations facilitate the segmentation and management of the tourism industry. It has been established that a key element in the development of tourist attractiveness is a destination - a territory that attracts a tourist, where he travels and where he spends time. Accordingly, it is advisable to understand a tourist destination as a set of tourist resources, tourist infrastructure, tourist attractions, which are selected and linked in such a way as to meet the needs and expectations of tourists. The role of segmentation of destinations is considered, which will make it possible to understand and satisfy the various needs of tourists, increase the competitiveness and functioning of the destination, form and develop a positive image of a country or city. It has been proven that a tourist destination is one of the important components in the tourist system. For this, the tourism sector must find new options for the successful functioning of destinations.

The methodology of the work is based on an interdisciplinary approach. The method of comparison and generalization is used in the work in highlighting the essence and specifics of the destination characteristics.

Scientific novelty lies in the analysis of modern theoretical and practical sources, systematization and processing of the received information in revealing, development and advancement of new tourist directions and destinations.

Conclusions. Historical and cultural heritage is a value developed by previous generations that fully function in modern life. Its central core is a moral and spiritual experience that becomes a source of inspiration and creativity. Cultural heritage is the most important factor in the spiritual life of a community and the maintenance of the cultural identity of its members.

The environment, the natural environment and the cultural and historical heritage are key aspects of the development of regional tourism, the «capital» that will solve, including economic problems. Unfortunately, the cultural heritage of many countries is still in danger of various kinds. Despite the well-established work in tourism, experts and professionals in the tourism business are constantly working to identify, develop and promote new tourist destinations and destinations.
