Abstract

Transcarpathia, which is located on the ethnocultural border of Ukrainians with Hungarians and Romanians, is justly considered a reserve of ancient Slavic traditions. The ritual scenario and folklore specifics of relict Christmas performances that existed among Ukrainians in Transcarpathia in the 20s and 30s of the last century on the basis of archival and literary sources is analyzed in the article.
