THE ORTHODOX TEMPLE PAINTING PROGRAM AS A CULTURAL PROBLEM

Abstract

The problem of definition of the concept «program of painting of an Orthodox church» in the context of cultural studies is covered, as well as the relationship of the terms «program», «system» and «scheme» of painting of an Orthodox church. Attention is paid to the factors that directly affect the formation of the program of temple painting. The article from the point of view of various scientific approaches reveals the purpose of monumental painting, draws attention to how time affects the features of temple painting.
