Abstract

Important stages of educational and cultural-artistic practice of the first Ukrainian music school in Stanislaviv (now Ivano-Frankivsk) in the first third of the 20th century are reflected. It is noted that despite some negative factors that inhibited the dynamics of qualitative growth in the music and education sphere, the interest in learning music and awareness of the seriousness of musical art have significantly increased in the general public of Stanislaviv in the first third of the 20th century. After all, without professionally trained personnel it was impossible to create and effectively operate high-level music societies and educational institutions, and hence the full development of the musical life of the city and the region was impossible as well. It is emphasized that the opening of a new formation of one of the first Ukrainian music schools in the territory of Galicia at the choral society «Stanislavivsky Boyan» became a milestone in the history of cultural competitions for national education.
