GLOBAN TRENDS IN DIGITAL PRESENTATION OF HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE BY MUSEUMS

Abstract

The article deals with information digital systems and their possibilities in preserving and presenting of the historical and the cultural heritage by museums identifies the main types of a virtual museum. Possibilities of widening access to the historical and the cultural heritage by means of preservation and representation of electronic copies and their collections, and metadata to them, presentation of voluminous models of objects of the historical and the cultural heritage, restoration of the partly lost fragments and completely lost in reality ones have been analyzed. Virtual museum informational resources are considered to be the part of the digital cultural heritage.
