MUSIC CREATIVITY IN THE ARCHIVAL CULTURE SYSTEM

Abstract

The phenomenon of archaic culture and the role of the musical and song component in the process of its formation are taken into consideration. The specifics of the human consciousness formation and its ability to perceive and produce a symbolic meaning are analyzed. Musical culture is closely associated with the category of sacred, inherent in human consciousness since the primitive times. It is proved that the development of musical and song culture was stimulated by the festive calendar rituals, which was a ritual reflection of the myth of a certain cultural tradition. In Christian times, musical creativity has changed, but has not lost its basic magical effect, which provides a specific effect on human consciousness. The research area correlates with the territory of modern Ukraine. The boundaries of the study range from the Paleolithic period to the time of Kiev an Rus inclusively. Given that music and singing were not recorded at that time,
the study was based on related archaeological artifacts, artworks and chronicles.
