THE IMAGE OF TARAS SHEVCHENKO IN BORIS ROMANOV’S EX-LIBRIS

Abstract

Shevchenkiana one of the main modern Ukrainian ex-libris theme, that attracts many artists. Many generations were inspired T. Shevchenko's creative work and he became the symbol of Ukrainian people fighting. This article examines part of creative works of Boris Romanov, namely T. Shevchenko image in bookplates. The article attracts attention to the demonstration of stylistic search and determination of creative idea, exposing a genre specific. Character of the creative handwriting of author considers on the basis of the studied literature and researched of bookplates and artistic features are looked over in the art of small book graphic arts.
