The article is devoted to the study of mechanisms for adapting museum institutions to functioning in conditions of armed conflicts based on a comparative analysis of the experience of Syria, Iraq, Libya and Ukraine. Comprehensive approaches to the preservation of cultural heritage are considered, including the physical evacuation of collections, digitalization of funds, legal regulation and public involvement. The effectiveness of the use of 3D scanning technologies, the creation of electronic archives and the organization of international cooperation to ensure the continuity of museum activities in crisis conditions is analyzed. It was established that the success of adaptation strategies is determined by the synergy of technological innovations, organizational flexibility and public mobilization.
It was found that the Italian model of integrating law enforcement activities with museum expertise through the activities of specialized units demonstrates high efficiency in combating the illicit trafficking of cultural values. The critical role of preventive measures, systematic documentation and the creation of decentralized repositories to minimize the loss of cultural heritage is proven. The results of the study show that the Ukrainian experience of combining centralized coordination with local initiatives ensured the evacuation of more than 546,000 museum objects and forms a new model of crisis management in the museum sector.
