Abstract

The article deals with the evolution of the development of melodeclamation as a kind of art, as well as scientific works of well-known Ukrainian art historians and literary critics in the field of artistic word art have been analyzed, which afford ground to assert: to single out the stages (princely theater, school theater, literary variety art firstly); melodeclamation exists as «recitation on the background of music»; the analysis of executive practice in this genre convinces that at the present stage melodeclamation is used by artists.
