Abstract

The aim of this paper To identify the origins and environment that shaped Vasyl Lopata's worldview concepts,
their impact on the artistic and figurative structure of the artist's works in the context of national identity and Ukrainian
visual arts tradition of the second half of the 20 th century.
Research methodology. The methodology of researching Vasyl Lopata's creativity is based on the application of
a set of methods, among which the following should be highlighted: subject-analytical, historical-cultural,
systematisation and synthesis. These methods provided objectivity and validity of the research results.
Results. The environment in which Vasyl Lopata's worldview concepts were formed and the influence of national and
regional factors on the thematic and artistic structure of the artist's works have been traced. Based on an analysis of historical
and Christian themes, the value imperatives of the artist's worldview, his system of semantic coordinates, and his aesthetic and
artistic concepts are clarified. It has been established that the worldview context is decisive in the aesthetic and creative
exploration of the artist's world, enriched by emotional and aesthetic experience and a reinterpretation of Ukrainian art
traditions. The national framework of the artist's pieces shows up in the ideological and contextual narratives he puts into
graphic series and thematic cycles dedicated to the works of Ukrainian literary classics, prominent historical figures, and
contemporaries. His contribution to the preservation of the national graphic tradition reflects national symbols, signs and a
unique philosophy that reveals the deep symbolic meanings of aesthetic and cultural significance.
Novelty. The study provides the first thorough analysis of the formation of Vasyl Lopata's artistic and visual concepts
in the context of the artist's worldview and values and the national artistic tradition of the second half of the 20 th century.
The practical significance. The results of the study can be used in writing textbooks and manuals as part of
sections on Ukrainian culture and art of the 20 th century.
