THE DANCE THEATER BY P. VIRSKYI AS AN INTEGRATIVE SYSTEM

Abstract

The aim of the article – discovery of the role of art integration in the practice of the Ensemble of folk dance
under the leadership of P. Virskyi. The research methodology. The use of common scientific (analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction), and a special scientific (art criticism analysis of choreographic composition "Zaporozhtsi") methods allowed to conduct an objective study.
Results. The essential characteristic of P. Virskyi's creative work became the creative comprehension and generalization of spiritual values of Ukrainian folklore from the point of theatrical aesthetics, which opened up wide opportunities for creating bright, modern choreographic images. Intensification of the processes of art integration in the activity of the Ensemble of folk dance under the leadership of P. Virskyi evolutionally caused to the phenomenon formation of "Dance Theater of P. Virskyi", in which signs of synthetic types of art are combined – choreographic and dramatic. An important emphasis on the balletmaster’s and director’s basis of staging, the combination of performing dance and acting mastery, integrative connections with musical and scenographic art became the characteristic signs of creative work of P. Virskyi’s Dance Theater.
Novelty. In this research, for the first time, the phenomenon of P. Virskyi's Dance Theater is reviewed in the
aspect of choreographic, directing, performing-dancing, acting, musical, scenographic arts.
Practical significance. Research materials and results can be used in further scientific studies on issues of folk stage choreography, in the educational process in specialized and higher education institutions of choreographic profile
