Abstract

The article comprehensively covers the functioning of Hutsul museums as centers of preservation and popularization of the unique culture of the Ukrainian Carpathians. The leading museum institutions of the region representing folk art, traditions, life, spirituality and crafts of the Hutsuls are analyzed. Their contribution to the formation of national identity and the development of ethnographic tourism is noted. It is proved that, despite the difficult realities of today in Ukraine, the museums of the Hutsul region contribute to the preservation and popularization of traditional folk culture, educating a new generation of Ukrainians on the basis of national traditions. Museums of the Hutsul region are not only repositories of material and spiritual culture, they help to preserve artifacts, art, documents and other objects that illustrate the history and culture of different peoples, contribute to the formation of historical memory, support folk crafts, tourism development and fostering respect for national heritage, play an important role that goes beyond the traditional preservation of artifacts, become active participants in cultural dialogue, contribute to the preservation of identity and create opportunities for a deeper understanding of our roots. Some museums in the Carpathian region are introducing the latest technologies, creating interactive and educational exhibitions to better immerse themselves in the cultural context of the Carpathian exhibits, which undoubtedly contributes to a deeper understanding of the intangible heritage of the highlanders and provides a prospect for further research.
