In this article it was examined V. Sylvestrov’s songs on J. Keats and P. B. Shelley’s words in «Silent Songs».
Specific characteristics of musical and poetic texts of this compositions on the phonetic, semantic, genre and metro rhythmic levels were analyzed and described in details. Conclusion about the importance of the poetic and musical metro rhythm (rhymes), search of their coincidences and consonants as the basis of the composer's artistic decision are made. The genre personalities of musical and poetic texts are analyzed, the basic philosophical and aesthetic positions of V. Sylvestrov are carried out in the conceptual system of the technology of musical composition.
