ART TEXTILE IN THE CONTEXT OF UKRAINIAN DECORATIVE ART IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XX-th – THE BEGINNING OF THE XXI ST CENTURY

Abstract

The paper deals with the leading tendencies of the development of professional art textile in Ukraine, in the sec. half of the XX th – the beg. of the XXI st century. It is proved that the author's textile of the specified period plays crucial role in the national artistic culture and develops artistically and stylistically following the trends typical for Ukrainian decorative art as a whole. The role of national traditions in the formation of figurative artistic language of modern art textile is defined, the use of the European experience of artistic culture is analyzed and innovative tendencies in author's works are traced. The creativity of leading artists who worked in this field of decorative art is discussed.
