DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES AS A BASIS FOR THE FORMATION OF DIGITAL ANTHROPOLOGY
Abstract
The article examines the role of digital technologies that have become organically integrated into various aspects of modern life – from medicine and education to economics and culture. It is noted that they facilitate communication, data retrieval and creation of digital copies of real objects, which illustrates their large-scale impact. It is outlined that
the term «digital technologies» covers a wide range of electronic tools that serve as the basis for numerous innovations and have a significant impact on everyday life.
It is emphasised that digital technologies have transformed the world of art, as new art objects have emerged and museums are being digitised. In the field of medicine, digital technologies play a key role, enabling remote consultations, electronic medical records, the introduction of advanced imaging methods, the use of robotics and 3D printing. The use of
digital technologies in the introduction of autonomous vehicles, which are controlled by artificial intelligence, is identified.
OpenAI language models, such as GPT chat, offer a variety of capabilities, such as data analysis, scientific writing, and coding, helping researchers in various fields. AI-based face recognition technologies improve security applications by detecting and recognising faces in real time. The article emphasises that the expansion of social media has redefined communication, crossing borders and creating challenges related to information quality and ethics in our digitised and globalised world.
It is noted that cyberspace serves as a backdrop for transformational technologies, and digital anthropology is a modern interdisciplinary field that highlights their impact on global communication, all within the ethical and humancentred framework of digital humanism.
