PHILOSOPHICAL AND CULTURAL ORIENTATIONS OF FRENCH POSTMODERNISM
Abstract
The article highlights the philosophical and cultural aspect, which promotes demonstarting how the philosophical preferences of the first generation of French postmodernists, on the one hand, influenced and, on the other hand, were corrected by the position of the creative elite, in particular, writers and filmmakers. It is emphasized that French postmodernism was formed on the basis of «polymethodology», which allowed artists to experiment with both «polygenre» and «polystylism», thatsignificantly expanded the space of culture creation, marked by the features of authorship and artistic novelty. Thanks to the principle of «uninhibited philosophizing», which was launched in France by the first scientific researches of M.-P. Foucault, and later widely employed, both writers and filmmakers confidently backed up on a number of such aesthetic and artistic means that enabled them to change significantly, first of all, the artistic form, using such components of the form as composition, rhythm, color, and sound.
The purpose of the article is to recreate the chronological formation of the philosophical and cultural aspects of French postmodernism, to demonstrate their self-sufficient nature and to reveal the potential for interaction. Research methodology. Based on the interdisciplinary principle, the issues raised in the article are examined using the problemconceptual,
comparative, and biographical approaches.
The scientific novelty is determined by the use of the philosophical and cultural approach factors in the process of analyzing the creative and theoretical heritage of the first generation of French postmodernists. The material of the article actualizes the problem of the influence of postmodernist philosophy, mailly, on the artistic practice of the second half of the 1900 s and a first quarter of the twenty-first century, which currently requires a personalized approach.
Conclusions. The personalized nature of the article consecutively recreates the process of formation of French postmodernism, which has its roots in the first works of M.-P. Foucault in the theoretical aspect and in the literary works of B. Vian in the art historical aspect. The tendency to expand the research issues and gradual development of a new conceptual and categorical apparatus that «ensured» the developments of postmodernist orientation is reconstructed. The article emphasizes the artistic factors that served as the basis for postmodern art.
Prospects for further research. Our further research is planned to be directed at reconstructingthe movement of avant-garde art from Fauvism to Cubism (distinguishing the period between 1905-1925) within the framework of the «French model of avant-garde art» on the basis of a personalized approach.
