DANCE TO THE MUSIC OF THE TIME : TRANSCRIPTION OF ART AND SCIENCE IN THE ROUND OF THE ANTIQUE MUSES
Abstract
For the purpose of a structured representation of the subject of research, the author considers the semiotic display by prominent painters of the late XV-early XX centuries the coexistence of the emotional-aesthetic and rational components in the culture-creating activities. The presence of compositional, artistic and aesthetic features of the visualization of such unity, characteristic of each period of art history from the Renaissance to the Modern, is revealed and demonstrated. In the context of the effectiveness and specificity of the synthesis of science and art, examples of the creative heritage of French naturalists Bernard Palissy and our compatriot M. Sharlemanj are given. The expediency of returning to the syncretism of culture is supported by the conclusion about the obviousness for the painters of the New Age of the inseparability of scientific and artistic creativity in antique philosophy.
