Abstract

On the basis of archives, memoirs and many works, including the Ukrainian diaspora, an attempt was made to reconstruct the formation of theatrical life in Transcarpathia and to identify the grounds for its professionalization and to focus on the figures who led the theatrical movement.. Emphasis is placed on the specifics of the work of theater groups, their repertoire is analyzed. It is argued that the theatrical life of the 1920s–1940s in Transcarpathia had many features in common with the theatrical movement in Western Ukraine in general at that time. According to the authors, the proposed material will be an original page in the history of theatrical movement in Transcarpathia.
