Abstract

An attempt is made to distinguish the main achievements of modern musicological research in the study of Ukrainian pop song phenomenon. It is indicated that various problems related to the development of song pop music have been the subject of many scientific works in Ukraine, among the authors of which are I. Bobul, O. Boiko, Hen Tszinkhen, N. Drozhzhyna, V. Ovsiannikov, M. Mozghovyi, A. Paliichuk, Ya. Rudenko, T. Riabukha, T. Samaia, O. Sapozhnik, M. Smorodska, V. Tormakhova, N. Fedorniak, S. Chiernikova, O. Shevchenko and other researchers who turn to culturological, musical-performing, pedagogical and others aspects of the problem. It is noted that during the state Independence of Ukraine this topic, which due to known ideological reasons was practically not developed during the Soviet era, began to receive various treatment, so there was an urgent problem of systematization of such studies. In conclusion, it is emphasized that the most important issues that need further research are the role of personalities in the process of creating a pop song, its style at different stages, regional pop centers and more.
