THE ROLE OF ETHNIC MOTIVES IN THE FORMATION OF MEANING IN CINEMA ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE MOVIES OF EMIR KUSTURICA AND AKHTEM SEITABLAEV

Abstract

The ethnic component in the synthetic art form of cinema, its place, meaning, history of embodiment, tasks and symbolism are reserch. Genre definitions of films in which the folklore component is used are offered: historical, modern, epic adaptation. On the example of the movies of E. Kusturica («Gypsy Time», 1988, «Black Cat, White Cat», 1998) and A. Seitablaeva («Haytarma», 2013, «Another's Prayer», 2017) are analyzed directing techniques, with the help of which folklore elements are embodied and what content levels they reflect. The choice of films is dictated by the historical context that influenced their creation, thus outlining the directions in the development of Eastern European cinema. E. Kusturica's movies are recognized in the world and are auteur cinema, A. Seitablaev's movies represent the recent history of cinematography.
